Z. Widow, mother of four
What did you want to be when you were a child? I grew up in a very religious family. There weren't many things I dreamed about, except maybe having a home and a family. And, I did. I had the good fortune of having a loving husband who gave me 4 beautiful children. But, that ended a year ago, with his sudden death. I morn him. The children are also having a hard time. Thank God I have my children.
What would you like to do today?
After I got married, I wanted to finish my academic studies. I was studying Health Systems Management; to be a medical secretary. I wanted a profession that's in demand with a good income, not just anything. My husband supported me while I studied. I'd go early and come back late at night, but in the end I quit. And, after what happened, all I want is for my kids to be healthy. I want my eldest to be an engineer. I don't know why, but it's very important for me, and I keep pushing him to do well in school.
What is your dream?
My dream is to open a business here in Jisr, a café. I want it to be on the top floor of a building, with sea view; a homey place with a good vibe. I'll be famous in the village as the first woman to own a café.
