מאיפה את באה?
אני באה מטורונטו, קנדה. גדלתי בוונקובר, שם הבית שלי. באוקטובר האחרון עברתי לטורונטו, שם הכל חדש בשבילי. התחלתי לעבוד בחברת כח אדם. מסביב יש הרבה יותר מסעדות, בתי קפה, מוסיקה, ממה שהייתי רגילה, זה כייף, למרות שעכשיו מזג האוויר קר, מינוס 10, ואנחנו רוב הזמן בבית.
למה את מטיילת?
ההורים שלי מהגרים מטאיוואן וסינגפור, וכשהייתי קטנה הם היו עסוקים בהתאקלמות במדינה החדשה, עבדו ב 2-3 עבודות ולא היה להם זמן לטייל איתי ועם אחי. זה היה חסר לי. ברגע שסיימתי את האוניברסיטה, התחלתי לטייל ואני נוסעת כל שנה. הייתי בהרבה מקומות באסיה ובאירופה. אני רוצה לראות את העולם.
אני כאן עם חבר שלי. הגענו בספונטניות. היינו אמורים להגיע לחברים שלנו בקרנבל בברזיל, אבל הכרטיסים היו ממש יקרים. לעומת זאת, היה דיל שווה ישראל, ואני מכירה קצת סיפורים מאח שלי שגר כאן שנה. סיקרן אותי להגיע לפה. מאד הופתעתי לראות איך היהודים והמוסלמים גרים כל כך קרוב. זה אחרת ממה שחושבים. הביקור כאן ממש פתח לי את העיניים.
מה יעד הבא שלך?
זה הערב האחרון שלנו בישראל. היינו פה 6 ימים ומכאן ממשיכים לאיסלנד לכמה ימים. שם אנחנו מתכננים ללכת ללגונה הכחולה, לעשות קצת טרקים בהרים.

Where do you come from?
I come from Toronto, Canada. I grew up in Vancouver, that's where my home is. Last October I moved to Toronto, where everything is new to me. I started working at a Human Resources company. There are many more restaurants, coffee places and live music than what I was used to and that's fun. Though, right now the weather is really cold, minus 10 Celsius, and we spent most of the time at home.
Why do you travel?
My parents are immigrants from Taiwan and Singapore. When I was little they were busy integrating in the new country, worked 2-3 jobs each and had no time to take my brother and me anywhere. I needed that. As soon as I graduated from university, I began travelling and I do so once a year. I've been to many places across Asia and Europe. I want to see the world.
I'm here with a friend of mine. We came spontaneously. We were supposed to join some friends in the Carnival in Brazil, but the tickets were really expensive. On the other hand, there was a good deal to Israel, and I know a bit about it from my brother who lived here for one year. I was curious about it. I was very surprised to see how the Jews and Muslims live so close to each other. It's different than what people think. This trip really opened my eyes.
What is your next destination?
This is our last night in Israel. We were here for six days, and from here we continue for a few days in Iceland, where we plan to visit the Blue Lagoon and go tracking in the mountains.
